Dr. Nusrat Mumtaz

Dr. Nusrat Mumtaz holds a PhD in North Indian Classical Music With expertise in both violin and drums, she brings a unique fusion of Indian and Western classical styles to her teaching. Passionate about blending traditional and contemporary elements, she leads her students to explore the rich world of both Eastern Classical Music and Western classical traditions.

Nusrat’s approach to teaching is ensuring a strong foundation in classical music theory. She incorporates the art of improvisation into her lessons, empowering her students to express themselves creatively while mastering their craft. Her teaching also prepares students for RCM exams and familiarizes them with the intricacies of Staff Notation.

Nusrat encourages her students to explore the joy of music through performance. Her students often play along with background tracks of their favorite songs, sourced from platforms like YouTube, and are encouraged to showcase their skills on stage. This innovative approach creates an environment where students not only learn to play their instruments but also build confidence in performing live, making the learning experience both fun and rewarding.
