Hovig Garabedian is a guitarist, musician, composer, and arranger born in Aleppo, Syria. He graduated with honors from Aleppo State University, where he also served as a lecturer for three years. He earned his Honor’s degree from the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory in the classical guitar department and later completed the Jazz, Blues, and Rock program at the Colleges of Music, graduating with high marks.

He is deeply connected to the guitar, specializing in both classical and electric guitar. Over the past 40 years, he has taught at several music colleges around the world and has mentored more than 1,000 students across several countries, spanning entire decades of his career.

For many years, he was a member of the “Big Band” music ensemble and performed in Yerevan at the Opera with the Yerevan Jazz Band and renowned superstars. He is also one of the founding members of the “Kilikia” band in Toronto, with which he has performed at events in Toronto, Montreal, and Cambridge.
